The Parents Against Violence Foundation, Inc., (PAV) is a non profit organization, founded on March 1, 2004, by Carolyn Johnson Turner, and incorporated August 30, 2004.   Ms. Johnson founded PAV as a result of the devastation she experienced when her 20 year-old son, Rodreckus DeAndrew Johnson was shot and killed at a birthday party on November 22, 2003, in the Powderly Community of Birmingham.

The primary purpose of Parents Against Violence is to inform and enhance youth knowledge of the consequences associated with the use of violence, and to increase public awareness of issues that can cause violence.
